There are very few Ben-Hur offspring outside Australia and we believe that Magellan is the best of his line available in New Zealand.

As well as being super fine, Magellan has a high frequency crimp, with good definition throughout his fleece (a fibre curve of 47.2 deg/mm) and a brightness (lustre) seldom seen, except in really true whites. He has a good fleece coverage, with fibre well down his lags and an excellent bonnet. He cut 4.45kg of good quality fleece (blanket & neck) at his last shearing in Dec 2006.

At the National Show in Christchurch (2004) he was best white intermediate male, winning in a strong class and then taking out Reserve Champion Intermediate Huacaya Male. This is a top quality male, who we are now using in our ET programme. He has several quality cria to his credit.
